Weekly happenings

Not much has been going on, well Sarah, Chad, and I got the stomach bug going around and each of us spent at least 24 hours sick, I was sick a little longer, probably because I am pregnant. This last weekend though was really neat. Creed's dad worked on the Draper temple, okay so he did almost all of the wood work in the temple. So if you get to go he made all the doors and all the wood you see was done by him. The Draper temple is so beautiful and the spirit there is so inviting and an excellent reminder of why we go to the temple and a wonderful way to feel our Savior's love. After we went through the temple the church had set up a little reception for everyone and we ran into our good friend Pete and I finally met his wife, Summer! Amazing couple and a lot of fun to talk with.

So in case anyone is wondering I am 18 weeks pregnant today, wahooo! We have picked out our names for when the baby arrives, Jackson Creed, if a boy and Madilynn Elizabeth, if a girl, though I don't think we have decided on the spelling of that one. If you ask Sarah what we are having it changes daily, and sometimes hourly. Right now she just wants to call the baby Madilynn no matter what the gender, but a few weeks ago it was Jack no matter the gender.

Merry Christmas!

I know that this is a little late, but yeah, better late than never! We had a wonderful Christmas at our house. My parents came down and stayed with us for a few days. I was feeling better so we ended up playing games and talking till all hours of the night. We had some great food, my mom brought a ton of new recipes to try and they were amazing! Christmas was great, we started some new traditions, such as eating breakfast before opening presents. This made Chad a little upset because my family tradition was to be up at 6 to open presents. This year we were up at 9 ate breakfast and got around to opening presents by 10. Creed and I loved it! It makes the day more Christ centered and focused. Sarah was way cute, we got her 3 wooden puzzles and wrapped them all separate and she opened the first one and then when it was her turn we handed her another one and she said, "OH, it is my nother puzzle present!" before she unwrapped it. I think that when she is older we may have to hide the presents from her, or at wrap them funny so she can't tell what they are! I have to say that I just loved the low keyness of it all and really enjoyed spending time with family and remembering why we were celebrating the day. We skyped with Nate and Shelli after opening all the presents and we really enjoyed being able to see them and talk to them. Skype is amazing!

On the day after Christmas we did some shopping, I needed some winter maternity clothes, and there were some great sales at Shade clothing and Old Navy, in fact I was able to buy Sarah's clothes for summer and winter without breaking the bank! It was great. The 27th was another wedding day, only for Creed's cousin this time, so it was even more low key than Kirsten's. We did play at the wedding reception and that was fun. We also danced, which was so fun. Sunday we went to a homecoming, and then played with Creed's family at the Larsen house. It was great having all of them around and getting to strengthen our relationships with them! Now we are just hanging out with the Larsen's and spending time with them. Creed has had the whole week off this week and last week and it has been great to have him around all the time. He was able to work on the Draper temple last week with his dad and Ben and he really enjoyed that. We are getting pretty excited about walking through the temple with Shirl as our guide on the 10th of January.

I forgot to mention the Christmas festivities before Christmas, the Larsen and Mitton Christmas parties. They were tons of fun and Sarah loved them! She keeps asking if we are going to go to another party. And she just made me laugh, I just asked Sarah what she wanted to do today, and her response was, "wrap presents!" Oh, I just love her!

Way behind, so this update might be a bit long!

Okay, I am feeling quite a bit better and bigger so I thought that I would do an update really fast and hopefully not too long! Sarah is such a joy! Oh my goodness, she makes me laugh at least 10 times a day with the funny things that she says. Like today her Potato Head broke, you know the part that holds everything in on the behind. She says to Creed, "Daddy fix Mr. Potato Head, bum is broken!" To which we all just laughed and then fixed Mr. Potato Head's bum. Everything now is very or a bit, or both, such as, "Momma, I am very hungry a bit!" Also, she is always very hungry until you put food in front of her, then she is done. She turned two in October and I was too sick to do anything so on Halloween, the day after her birthday we came up to Murray where she went trick or treating as Nemo, and oh it was very cute! (pictures to come later, I promise!) She figured out right away how the whole thing worked and she received a sucker at the first house and had to show it to everyone at every house. The next day we had a birthday party for her with the Larsens. Elizabeth was wonderful and made her a cake. She loved Thanksgiving and having my whole family at the house. She loves her Aunt Kirsten and Uncle Cameron. Creed took Sarah up to his parents house Thanksgiving night, which allowed me to go and see Kirsten's hair get done for the wedding and to join in the wedding festivities a little more than I would otherwise have gotten to, but that is jumping ahead a bit, so to back up, at the Larsen's Sarah got to help make a gingerbread house, aka eat all the candy, she went bowling and to a movie. Somewhere in there she won a pink fuzzy monkey, which now has to go with us everywhere! She is just such a joy and I love her tons! When we ask her if we are having a boy she says yes and then we say, "what should we call him?" To which she replies, "Jack!" Then if we ask if we are having a girl the answer is yes and when we ask what we should call her she replies, "Jack!" So I guess the baby's name will be Jack.

Creed turned 29 this year! Crazy! Once again I was to sick to even make a cake, so we didn't have any! I was just really thankful for the prompting back in September to get him the new Indiana Jones movie, so that he at least had a present.

Kirsten is married, wahooo! She married Cameron Grant on the day after Thanksgiving so we had the whole Thompson clan at my house including the soon to be newlyweds. It was a ton of fun, although I was still sick and slept and layed around for most of it. It was still fun to chat and catch up and to hang out with everyone. The wedding day went great, as mentioned above I got to be as involved as I could be and it was great! I was really feeling the angels round about when I was able to do as much as I was able to. Kirsten ended up wearing my wedding dress, which made the day a little more special for both of us, and this decision was made the night before the wedding! She was going to wear my grandma's but it had yellowed enough that she couldn't wear it in the temple and so she tried mine on and it fit and she said she felt beautiful so that was it, wedding plans changed the night before. She was married in Bountiful, he is from Centerville. It was a beautiful wedding and they are just a fun and wonderful couple!

Hello again!

Oh my oh my! I cannot believe that it has been so long since I posted! I have quite a few things to say and pictures to post, but I don't think that I can do it all in one sitting, so today I will just give the excuse to why I have been gone for sooo long. We are expecting! Creed and Sarah and I are so excited (okay so now I am excited for the past 3 months, not so much excitement on my end due to the sickness stuff!) I am almost 14 weeks along, it will be 14 on Wednesday. Things are looking good so far. We have had two ultrasounds already, one at 10 weeks to see how far along I was (had two periods in September, weird I know!) and Sarah was so excited to see the baby on the TV. She keeps asking when the baby will be on the TV again. Then at my first appointment they couldn't find the heart beat so ultrasound number two showed baby zipping around. Sarah loves the baby and talks about having her baby someday. Creed is excited and is hoping that we have a boy. I am just excited that the sickness stuff is wearing away and that I can be up for more than 5 minutes at a time! So next time I am feeling up to it I will tell you all about Sarah turning 2, Creed turning 29, Halloween, Thanksgiving, my sister's wedding, and decorating the Christmas tree. Yikes! I am way behind!

What do you want to do now?

So the other day I asked Sarah the above question: "What do you want to do now?" Her answer: "Help Mom with dishes!" Then she ran up the stairs and over to the dishwasher. It was a good thing I had dishes to do! Sarah is becoming such a good helper and she is starting to say really funny things. My parents visited briefly this weekend and when we told Sarah that Grammi and Poppy were coming her response was: "Poppy say go ride Peter Pan Ride, lots of fun! Where Poppy!?!" Anyway, things are going good here, I just closed my first Home Gathering and was totally surprised that it ended as well as it did, because we didn't have as big a show up as I would have liked, due to funerals during the party time, but it ended really well and I made almost $100 and my cousin signed up! So all in all it was a good party and I am really loving being a consultant! If anybody is thinking that they may want to be a consultant October is the month to do it because Close to My Heart is offering over $100 of FREE stuff. It really is amazing! Anyway, hope everyone has a great day!

How did you get so cute?

So Sunday as we were driving to a friends house to visit, Creed asked Sarah the following question: How did you get so cute?" Sarah replies, "Hair Pretties!" It just made us laugh really hard. She is just so cute! Last night we had family home evening and right now we are just following the new Nursery manual and last night's lesson was titled Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ Love Me. I asked Sarah, "Who loves Sarah?" Her answer, "Jesus loves Sarah!" I was amazed that she already knew, though I probably shouldn't be. Sarah is just growing so much and we love her tons. She loves to sing and knows most of the words to Do As I'm Doing, If your Happy and You Know it, Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam, I am a Child of God and a few others. She hums, and in sacrament meeting we sang I Stand All Amazed as the sacrament hymn and then all during the sacrament she hummed the melody. I think she has her great grandmother's talent, Creed's Grandma Ewan was a professional Opera singer and even toured with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

We are all doing good. Chad has moved in with us and is such a joy. I am really loving getting to know him and helping him get to know himself. He is also a huge help. Creed is doing well, though we are trying to figure out what the Lord has planned for us. Last week Creed came home and said that they company had layed off another 45 people, so in the last 2 months they have layed off 70 people, that is almost 2/3rds of the company and that we were taking a pay cut. So now we just have to figure out if the Lord wants us here, or somewhere else. There aren't really any other jobs out here that we could switch to, so we are looking around and praying that all goes according to the Lord's plan.

I had my first Home Gathering this last weekend. My aunt and cousin hosted one in Tremonton/Garland and it went pretty well. It turned into an open house because of two funerals and a snow storm, but we still had 13 people show up and in the end my aunt and cousin are going to get about $60 worth of free stuff, which is pretty exciting for them! It also means that I will make almost $85. I love my new job!

Funny and tender

Sarah says some funny things lately and I really want to scrapbook them, so I am writing them and sharing them with all of you. On Friday we went swimming (we have access to an indoor pool) while getting ready Sarah said the following:

Sarah: Binne Pooh on diaper

Creed: That is right, Winnie the Pooh is on your swimming diaper.

Sarah: I know, it's GREAT!

Apparently she really likes Winnie the Pooh on her diaper!

The other day I was watching Ryan and he was putting rocks in his pocket and this is what Sarah said to me:

Sarah: Pocket?

Me: You don't have a pocket, so you will just have to carry your rocks.

Sarah looks at Ryan and then the rocks in her hand, "Mom, Need pocket."

Me: Sorry, you don't have a pocket.

Sarah: NEED POCKET! Mommy, I Need a POCKET!

Didn't know that not having a pocket would be so dramatic and devastating! Sarah is also very tender hearted and she LOVES babies. Last night she watched the end of the Incredibles and cried and screamed when the baby received his powers. She kept saying, "Baby okay, daddy, Baby Okay?" Creed said that in order to get her to stop crying about the baby he had to have her watch the short that goes with the movie, the Boundin one. Anyway, she woke up this morning and promptly told me that "Mommy baby okay, daddy say baby okay." I just love her little spirit!
