What is his name? Creed Sterling Larsen

How long have you been married? 3 Years (February 14)

How long did you date? Our first date was the first weekend of the college school year of 2003 and we were married Valentines day of 2004. He went to school at BYU-I and I at BYU so we did the whole long distance thing, and actually only had 5 true dates before we decided to get married. But we dated over instant messanger-played games and chatted from October to December. We also had phone dates. It was great fun!

How old is he? 28

Who eats more? Creed does, but neither of us really eat a ton

Who said I love you first? I actually don't remember, but I have a feeling that it was me

Who is taller? Creed is taller, by about 4 or 5 inches.

Who sings better? Creed-but if I play my cards right I might be able to take voice lessons from his grandmother!

Who is smarter? Creed, and he has a better memory, but I was the better student and graduated both high school and college with better grades.

Who does the laundry? Me. But Creed will help me fold if I ask him.

Who does the dishes? Depends on the day. I have Tuesday through Friday, John, my cousin who lives with us, has Saturday and Monday and Creed has Sunday-otherwise I would go nuts, I HATE doing dishes!

Who cooks dinner? I do, but Creed will help and if I ask him to he will.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Creed does, but we go back and forth.

Who pays the bills? Technically both of us, he works so that we have the money to pay the bills, but I actually write the checks or send the money. Although we both budget the money so both of us is the right answer.

Who mows the lawn? We have never had a lawn, so I will tell you next year when we have one.

Who drives when you are together? Creed does, unless he wants me to.

Who is more stubborn? Me, but I am not really that stubborn, am I?

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Though, I think that we are both really good at communication, and so if something bothers us we both just talk about it like reasonable people and both of us admit that we are wrong when we are.

Whose parents do you see the most? Creed's, they live in Murray and mine still live in Meridian

Who proposed? Creed on New Year's Eve, or maybe you would call it New Years, it was right at midnight

Who has more friends? Well....Creed does, or he has just stayed in touch with all of his friends better than I have.

Who has more siblings? Creed, he has 2 brothers and 3 sisters. I have 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Who wears the pants in the family? We both wear pants! But really I don't think that we have been in any situation where someone needs to be the only pant wearer yet. We both look at our relationship as partners and equals which is wonderful!

Busy Busy Bee, and Yes I am alive!

So I haven't blogged in a while and here is the explanations of why:

1. I got the stupid bug going around and couldn't think due to sinus problems for a week.

2. My sister came to visit for a week.

3. I am working on a huge undertaking-a Christmas present for my parents that involves scrapbooking and 28 years of memories and pictures!

4. Basement-need I say more

So those would be the top 5 reasons I haven't gotten any blogging done in a long time, but here I am today with a few minutes, before I have to get back to reason #3. We are all doing a lot better. No one is really feeling sick, well okay I am still having a little earache, residual from the major sinus problem I had, but other than that I feel GREAT! Sarah is doing so well, she is saying new words all the time and getting faster as well. The basement is coming along, we had an inspection at the beginning of last week and passed, which means that now all the lights get to be hooked up and that then the insulation can be brought in. We are hoping to be done by the end of the month, minus cabinetry. Yesterday we drove to and from Boise to drop Kirsten off and pick up some more of what my Mom calls junk and I call treasure! It was quite exhausting, but it gave Creed and I some much needed talking time (the truck we drove didn't have a radio, so we brought one along that we could plug into a power converter, mostly worked!) Creed is also in a production for Grandma Mitton-Ahmal and the Night Visitors-he is playing his Bass which sounds so wonderful! This last weekend I also did a holiday boutique which went pretty good I sold three frames! I was so excited to actually sell some that I couldn't even stand it! So now we are back to the normal December busyiness with the extra that we have added onto ourselves, hopefully we will live through it all! I bet we will. Primary Program and shout outs!

So today was our primary program (yes I am way excited that it is over!) and the kids did great. They sang the songs loud and really had fun with everything. It was a lot of work, I didn't remember it being so much work when I was in them :) but for the leaders it really is. So now I am looking forward to next year and that program. The songs are really good (like always) and I am excited to be the one to teach the kids, so that if I mess up or the kids don't know the words it will be my fault. Plus I will know what they know and what they don't, unlike this year where I was called in June and they had only learned the first verses to the songs before. But it did turn out great and it was a lot of fun.

Now for the shout outs. I am just wondering if anyone has heard from Janelle, Karen or any of our other friends from high school. I have emailed Janelle a few times and haven't gotten a response, she is probably super busy. If anyone has information on these good friends let me know. I would love to hear how they are doing! Also I am starting on my Christmas cards, so please email me your current address! Thanks!

Toddler

So Sarah has decided that she wants to be a toddler now. She walks pretty much all the time, unless really tired, or Ryan is running to fast. The other day she threw her first temper tantrum. We came in from getting the mail and I set her down and she looked at me and just bawled and then threw herself into the ground. It was pretty sad. Then at dinner she wouldn't eat unless she had a spoon. Who knew, just earlier that day she ate with her fingers, but now she wants a spoon, and she doesn't even really know how to use it. Then in the tub she pretended to be eating! She has these fish toys for the bath and one is kind of shaped like a bowl. She filled it with water and then she dipped her fingers in and then put them to her mouth, she did this 5 or 6 times in a row. Once we put her to bed and were talking about it, we decided that she had decided to be a toddler from now on, and she really is. She says something new everyday, or makes a new sound. Right now baby is her favorite word.

Happy Birthday Esposo!

Yesterday was Creed's 28th birthday, two more years and he will be 30! I can't believe it. For his birthday he got a suit, tie and shirt from me and a tie from Sarah, though he got them a month ago, he still looked great! he also got the book about the Prophets and Presidents, in fact I think that is the title. He got that from his mom and dad. They came over and had dinner and cake with us, it was great fun. So here is a quick list of the things that I love about Creed. Happy Birthday!

1. He is an amazing father! I love being able to watch him play with Sarah. He is so patient with her and she loves him more than me ( I think it is because she spends all day with me, and I am the one who puts her down to sleep)

2. He is a nerd! He is so smart and he and I share a love of learning, though I enjoy learning about different things. I love listening to him talk about technical stuff, total engineer!

3. He makes funny faces at himself in the mirror sometimes, has since we were married and it always makes me laugh!

4. He has the most amazing memory for gospel things, he loves learning about the gospel and talking about it. He has a way with words, I love his talks! We can have great discussions where I learn and he learns.

These are just a few things that I love about my esposo!

For Sarah's second halloween she was able to go trick-or-treating, but really we just made a visit to the trunk-or-treat because she was running a fever and had a runny nose. She was a zebra and here are a few great pictures of the day!

Birthday pictures

Here are a few pictures of Sarah's first birthday party. Grandma and Aunt EmmaLee came as well as Grandma Larsen (Creed's grandma), Grandma and Grandpa Mitton, Michael, Caroline and Ryan all showed up to help us celebrate this special day.

Our little pumpkin is turning one today and I can't believe it! Here are some milestones from the past year: Sarah was born October 30, 2006 at 3:47 AM. She weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and was 19 inches long. She was three weeks early and had a hard time eating so three days after her birth we took her home and she weighed 5 lbs 6 oz. She was a surprise to us, meaning we didn't know if she would be a boy or a girl. So it was really exciting when the doctor said, "You have a girl!"

At her two week appointment she was 20 inches and weighed 6 lbs 4 oz. At her two month check up she weighed 10 lbs 6 oz and was 22 inches long. On January 26, a day before she turned 3 months old, she rolled over for the first time, and Mom and Dad missed it! A days eariler we were worring because Sarah started having seizures, so it was great to see that developmentally she was on schedule. On January 31st she had an EEG and everything came back normal and since then she hasn't had a seizure, we are so thankful!

At four months Sarah weighed 12 lbs 6 oz and was 25 inches long. She giggled on March 1st! She probably would have been crawling by her 6 month appointment, but we were in the middle of a move, so whenever she looked like she would crawl I picked her up, I didn't want her in all the boxes just yet! So she started to crawl in the middle of May instead. At 6 months she weighed 13 lbs and was 25 inches long, that is right she didn't get any longer between four months and six, I think that that is a little weird, but who knows!

She waved at 8 months and said da da and ma ma by her nine month check-up. Now she says cracker, duck, thank-you, and bye bye. She can do the sign for food and milk. At nine months our little one was 16 lbs and 27 inches. Today we will find out how much she has grown. It really is so amazing how much changes in the first year, I can't even believe that last year she was just so little. But we are very thankful for our Sarah girl and for the love that she gives to us and for the love that we feel for her. Happy Birthday Little One!

So here goes!

1. I have started my own business and love it! I really didn't think that I had the head to run a business, but I have found that I loved the getting started phase and that I love the accounting side of it as well!

2. I have no clue how to raise a child, and I have a soon to be 1 year old! But I love staying home and doing things with her, or taking her out and showing her the world. Sarah is so curious it makes everything we do together fun.

3. I hate talking on the phone. I hate it, so if you call and I don't answer, I am sorry, I try not to be rude and call people back, but I really hate talking on the phone, I would rather meet and chat in person!

4. I love to play games and have a hard time finding people who will play with me, so if anyone reading this wants to play let me know!

5. One of my favorite past times is laying in the tub and reading a book, I picked this up when pregnant and having to relax my body out of contractions. Some days it is a big struggle to do the excersizing first! Right now I am reading Pride and Prejudice!

6. I do not know six people to send this too! Pathetic I know, but Angela took all the people that would send it too! This also means that I do not have a ton of friends, I am not as out going as some, and yet not as shy as I use to be.

She walks!

That is right, my Sarah girl can walk! The other day we went to Creed's work to see the life size model of the S-40, a jet that his company is a part of making and she walked the whole time, it was so cute! She was following these two girls around like a little lost puppy, I loved it! She also has four teeth now, wahoo, she can eat what we eat, well mostly what we eat, no eggs, no milk, no peanut butter, no honey etc. You all know the list.

Brite Music

I just recieved a call from my sister-in-law Shelli, she is now an active seller for the Brite Music. I grew up on Brite Music and was thinking of getting some for Sarah. Well Shelli called to let me know that they are going to stop selling the books that go along with the tapes! Devasting news for me, I love the books, so it looks like I will be buying sooner rather than later. It is also a first come first serve basis on the rest of the books that they do have, so I will be ordering today, and hoping that I get the books! So for an update, the basement is still coming along, I guess I say that everytime I post, but that is the big thing that we are working on at the moment, and what we are spending what seems like all our money on as well. But it is really fun to work with Creed on a project this big. He is such an engineer and nerd and I LOVE him! Sarah has two new teeth on the top, which means that she can eat crackers like the rest of us, and she loves them! She is also being a little picky in what she eats, but I am probably the most pickiest of eaters, so I guess I know where she gets it :) She is standing and took her first step last Tuesday, though she doesn't yet have the confidence to really walk, but we are working on that. John had his first midterms this week and seemed to do pretty well. So all and all things are going great here at the Larsen house!

My parents came last week and we had a blast! We went to IKEA and bought my mom and dad some nice, yet cheap furniture, which she says she loves! Then on Sunday Sarah opened her birthday present from my parents, a way cute purple Bambi jumper, and she told my mom and dad, tank to, that is right she can say thank-you, but refuses to call me ma unless she really wants me, most of the time I am dada, which gets confusing because so is Creed. My parents had to leave on Monday, and Sarah went down for a nap at the same time, she woke up and wandered around looking for them, it was so cute! I love how much she loves them and knows them even though we don't get to see them all the time like her Grandma and Grandpa (my parents are Grammy and Poppy). Oh, and my parents also brought some of their "old" furniture, and now my home is really starting to look and feel like home! I love the free garage sells that they have! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Girls Night and Pictures

This last weekend while our men were away I got some of my friends and relatives together for a girls night. We watched the movie Bewitched-Kristen and her roommate hadn't seen it and really wanted to watch it. We also had a wonderful angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream, yummmm! We also got to visit and catch up with each other's lives. It was a great little break from the day to day, and I love getting together with a bunch of girls!

This is a picture of Sarah in her new coat. This coat was at WalMart and it can be a windbreaker, a nice white jacket, a fun fleece jacket and a nice winter coat. She doesn't like it when it is a full coat because she can't move, hence the sad face! And I am a horrible mom, because I thought that it was so cute and funny when she was so sad about it. So I am going to be working on being more empathetic with my little one.

What a wonderful Weekend

This last weekend was wonderful for me and my little family. I love conference and this time there seemed to be so many wonderful talks that hit home to me. I can say that I learned something from every talk and at the end of the last session I felt motivated to do better. Creed and John felt the same way and so we have sent some goals for ourselves. Here are just a few.

Creed and I are going to go to the temple three times a month-Caroline you just might be babysitting:)

We are going to buy the Preach My Gospel Manual and use it

Each of us are going to do better in our personal prayer and scripture study

We will put more emphasis on our family prayer and family home evening

We are going to say one way that we saw the Lord's hand in our day at dinner

Basement fun!

So when we started the basement project I helped a little, meaning I played with the chalk line and measured stuff. I also gave my ideas of what I wanted. Well I am happy to announce that I have finally helped more than that. Last night I cut the studs and firring strips with the table saw, and then I nailed them in with the nail gun. But I still think that my favorie tool is the cement nailer. It is quite fun to use. Maybe I will help again tonight and take a picture. Guess you will just have to check back to see!

Yikes!

I am a horrible blogger, I swear I posted more in September than just twice? Oh well, here is another post. Things are going well here at the Larsens. We have been pretty busy though, like everyone else. The weekend of the 21st we were in Murray for a 60th wedding anniversary program for the Larsen grandparents. Can you believe that, 60 years! Then this last weekend we were at a funeral, for Creed's great aunt who lived to be 100 years old! Creed's relatives really amaze me at the milestones that they reach.

John, my cousin who is living with us, is doing great. His lowest grade in college is an A-, which I think is great, especially for someone with dislexia and who hasn't been to school for three years. He is really enjoying it and is setting some great goals for the future. We love having him here and seeing the progress that he is making. He is a great example to us of making the most of your life and the trials that you have been given.

Creed is also doing great. He is still plugging along at the basement, and I even helped this last week in putting the tub/shower combo in place:) I also helped pound in a few of the electrical boxes. This week we are hoping to make some real progress, but you know how life is, it has a way of sneaking up on you. Creed has also been helping me a lot with my business, which seems to not be doing so well. So I ask you all, if you came across some really nice frames to display your scrapbooking pages, what would you pay for them? I think that that might be my problem, but I am not sure. So this week was spent doing some free advertising on some different sites, so hopefully I sell a frame soon! Oh, and maybe you can all tell your friends about my booth, it is in the Provo Quilted Bear and the name of it is Sweet Yesterday. Right now there are only 12x12 frames there, but I can do 8x8, or whatever size anyone needs, it just might take a while.

The other huge thing that we have been focused on is my ear. Yes my ear. You see it has been hurting for three weeks now, but I thought that it might be due to the fact that I have been having a lot of dentistry work done on that side of my head, but that has been done now for a little bit and my ear still hurts like the dickens (okay so I don't really know how bad the dickens hurt, but my ear hurts a ton!) So I went in and I don't have an infection, my ear just is having a hard time pressurizing. Which means I have to take Sudafed, until my ear stops hurting. I hate paying doctors $25 for them to say, sorry not much I can do for you.

Sarah is doing great as well, she is getting a new tooth-FINALLY! She is a year old at the end of this month and she is just now getting her third tooth, unbelievable. Which leads me to another question I have. What do you moms do for your kids and food? I got so sick of buying baby food I just started blending things that we were eating, some things she likes and others she doesn't. So if anyone has some good ideas we would appreciate them. Also she is now able to stand on her own! Soon she will be walking, or maybe running would be a better way to describe it. She just goes and goes and goes as fast as she can. She really is a cutie though, and I love her tons!

One last question for all of you out there, do any of you do the digital scrapbooking, and if so what program of website do you use? Just curious!

Pictures!

I promised some pictures so here they are. These first three are of Ryan (Caroline's little guy) Kirsten (my sister) and Sarah. We went to the park to play and had a blast, and of course bubbles were involved. These pictures are of a family adventure in Idaho Falls. We went to visit over labor day weekend and while there we went mini-golfing with my Aunt and Uncle and their four kids. Yes Kirsten went with us. She is taking the semester off from Utah State to hang out in Boise with my Mom and Dad and Chad. Here are some pictures of Sarah with her Aunt Val the night before Val headed back to school in Boston. Sarah loves her aunt Val (and the rest of her aunts!) but only gets to see her during the summer and in December when school is out. We miss you Val! Last, but not least some pictures of our adventure at Wheeler Farm in Salt Lake. This is a great little farm from the 1800s that is being run to help show kids what it was like to live on a farm. There are farm animals (a favorite with Parker, Sarah's cousin on the Larsen side) some huge farm equipment from every era, an old farm house, a barn, cellars, and a tree house (Parker's other favorite part of the day!) I had never been before and I really enjoyed it. Sarah had fun as well, and it was great to spend time with Parker and Grandma!

Update!

Okay so I really never know where time goes, if anybody finds it let me know! So much has happened since I last wrote. The weekend of August 25th our house was full. My parents came down to visit, which was great, Boise doesn't seem so far away, but 6 hours with a baby makes it seem so far. Then my mom's sister and husband came down, her mom and her brother and his family of 8. We went swimming and ate food and talked. It was tons of fun. Then all the kids stayed and watched a movie while the adults (minus Creed, John and I of course) stayed at a hotel. Sarah stayed up all night of course and so we didn't make it to church, she isn't very good by the third hour and I didn't want to know what she would be like with only 4 hours of sleep! So we stayed home from church and she slept a little more, but not as much as I would have liked. The following week was great because my sister was here. Even though she goes to school in Logan we don't see her a ton so I really enjoyed the full week of girl! We went to the temple, shopping, out to dinner, and out to dessert. We also had a girls night with the Larsen girls and that was tons of fun. They introduced me to the book Twilight, which is so hard to put down and I should have thought to buy the rest of the series, but I didn't silly me. Which is what I have been doing this week, reading the book, I cannot even tell you how good it is. Anyway, Creed got a lot done on the basement and I really do need to get some pictures so that you can see the progress, through it doesn't look like a ton of progress but it is. Well this next week is going to be busy as well, I an opening a booth up in the Quilted Bear here in Provo selling 12x12 frames, to hold scrapbook pages, that actually will look nice in any room of your house (how does that sound for advertising!) Anyway I have to have the booth ready by the 15th, so I hope my inventory gets here fast! I never thought I would own my own business, but it is kind of fun! The company name is Sweet Yesterday and I sure hope that it works out! I also have tons of pictures to post, so hopefully I will find time in the near future to post them. Hope everybody out there is having as wonderful a time with the stuff going on in their lives as we are!

Not Much

Well, not much is happening here at our house as of late. Creed is still going at the basement and work and I am still taking care of Sarah. She is getting bigger though and she sure does talk a ton! I don't really know what she is saying half of the time, but I love listening to her. She has the question mark inflection down though and that is great fun. Since nothing much is going on I thought I would share some pictures. Here is Sarah playing the piano with mom, one of her favorite things to do Here she is teething on the piano bench, must taste mighty good! Sarah also loves to sit on our laps when we are at the computer and we have an extra keyboard that we allow her to use She also likes to "help" with the dishes!

Time

I cannot believe how fast time seems to be flying by. It seems like just yesterday that I was bringing Sarah home and now she is nine months and getting into everything! I remember when I wished that she would do something other than sleep and now I wish that she would sleep more! Life sure is funny. Well I want to thank everyone who came to girls night, it was something that I really needed and I am way excited for another girls night this Thursday with Caroline. I really do appreciate the friendships that I have and that I have been able to keep up with, it is really great to be able to talk to friends and share lifes joys and sorrows with someone outside of the situation. Well we have finally finished the last Harry Potter book and I have to say that I really enjoyed it, but I am kind of glad that it is over so that we can get back to work on the basement. The fireplace is in and most of the walls are framed. The water softener is bought and ready to be hooked up and we have bought most of the stuff to do the duct work with, so once we finish with the doctor appointments of the week we should be able to get chuggin along again. I love having health insurance. With Creed's job we had to wait 90 days so the only insurance we had was catasophic, and now we have the regular insurance and I LOVE it. But since we haven't had any in the last little while everyone is a little behind, we are starting to catch up though and that is always a plus! Well before I sign off I need to give a little shout out to Ben who is on his way to Law school in Oklahoma City, good luck and know that you will be missed!

Sarah's Corner

For all of those out there that have children I am sure that you can relate. Sarah has taken over this corner in our house. Here you can find most of her books, her chew toys (no she isn't a dog just a teething baby), her stuffed animals, all the DVD's that we own, her blanket, diapers, wipes, diaper rash medicine etc. Every night I clean it up and put everything away and yet every morning after she has been up for 30 min. everything is back out. Here is a picture of her in her corner.

Backpacking

Last weekend Creed and his brother Ben went backpacking in the Unitah mountains, on the Notch Mountain trail. They seemed to have had a blast. Here are some pictures. And sorry, I can't figure out how to get the pictures to rotate, they are correct when I add them.
