Cute sayings

So while at the temple waiting for our turn and pictures, Sarah was thirsty. Creed took her in to take a drink in the waiting room. Sarah saw a picture of Jesus and said "Jesus, down, want to go to Jesus!" I love my daughter's simple faith and love for her Savior!

The night before the wedding Ben and Parker (3 years old son of Eric and Kendra) were sharing a room. Parker says to Ben, "Uncle Ben are you getting married tomorrow, in the temple?" Ben, "Yeah." Parker, "That is awesome." Ben, "Someday are you going to be married in the temple?" Parker, "Yeah, but not tomorrow, I have to go on a mission first."

Parker to Sarah as Eric and Kendra are getting ready to drive to Rigby late Tuesday night, "Want to come to my house and spend the night?" It was really hard to say that she couldn't. They got along so well and had so much fun playing together this weekend!

Weekend in review

WARNING THIS POST IS LONG!!!!

So this weekend the whole Larsen clan got together and stayed under one roof and had a blast! I love hanging out with Creed's family, I am the luckiest girl with the best in-laws. I love the craziness of it all! So here is what happened:

Friday-Sarah and I visited the doctor. She had been running a fever and a rash broke out. I wanted to be on the safe side and so we went. We found out that she had Rosiola, a form of the measels. She was no longer contagious, but had been since Monday. Creed and I didn't get it and so we decided that we would go on with the weekend as planned. So we packed the car up after Creed got home from work and headed down to Murray. Once there Creed and I and Elizabeth and Shirl went to the Pioneer concert with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Osmonds. The concert was so fun! They showed videos of the Osmonds when they were younger and pictures and the music, I loved the music. They did an amazing arrangement of Shenandoah and another songs that I just can't remember at the moment. Anyway, it was awesome!

Saturday-We had family pictures at Murray Park, a great place for pictures by the by. Then the girls, Elizabeth, EmmaLee, Kendra, Ellen, Valerie, Ali and I all had pedicures. Then we had a little break for naps before we all headed up to Cherry Hill for the afternoon. Sarah loved it! She loves to swim and go down slides. We all just had fun laughing and enjoying time spent together. Once the children were in bed the adults stayed up and played Mario Cart on the Wii till WAY too late!

Sunday-We had church and dinner and family time. The instruments were brought out and the practicing for the wedding happened. Then there was just some more hanging out and talking. We also visited with Grandma and Grandpa Larsen and had yummy chocolates and strawberry shortcake!

Monday-I cut my hair so that I now have a Paige Davis haircut-she is the host on Trading Spaces on TLC, or the girl doing the RC Willey ads. I LOVE IT! Then I scrapbooked for Ben and Ali's wedding. The house was cleaned, the children were played with some amazing pictures were taken by Ell, pictures were looked at from Saturday and ordered, dinner was made and eaten, Ali's family came over for FHE, a lesson on faith was given and games were played. Fun was had by all! It was so fun to just hang out with everyone and Ali's family is so fun and super nice. After FHE the Larsen's practiced an arragement of My Treasure that Valerie had written. Kendra and I listened and cried. It was so amazing and it is so fun to see everyone with their instruments and sharing their talents. LOVED IT!

Tuesday-THE WEDDING DAY! So Ben and Ali were sealed at 10 am in the Bountiful temple. The ceremony was so sweet and I was very grateful to be there and to remember my wedding day. I LOVE WEDDINGS! Pictures were taken afterwards of course. Then there was the luncheon at the Lion House. Good food, awesome music and a wonderful spirit. The songs turned out great and everyone cried while Val sang and cried her song for Ben and Ali. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. Then we all walked to our cars and headed to Aunt O'lynn's house to pick up the grandkids and to chill before the reception. Then the stress bomb exploded all over the plans. I don't know if anybody else heard what happened, but here it goes. It seems that a semi lost it's tank in the middle of I-15 northbound. This means that it was closed and everyone had to use side roads and highway 89. This means that Creed, EmmaLee and I made it to O'lynn's house in 1 hour and 15 min instead of 20. This also means that Eric and Kendra with the carseats made it in 2 hours. This also means that Ellen and Val made it in 2 hours and 15 min and that Shirl and Elizabeth never made it. We were all suppose to be at the Davis Convention Center at 5:15 for pictures. We left the Lion House at 3:30. Nobody from Ben's side made it for pictures. EmmaLee, Creed, Sarah and I made it by 6:15. Ellen and Val made it at 6:30 and Eric and Kendra made it at about 6:45. Our families wedding outfits were with Shirl and Elizabeth who called around 6:30 to say that they were not sure if they were going to be able to make it at all. Ellen, Val, EmmaLee and I were doing our hair and makeup in the bathroom when we found out. We said a prayer asking for a miracle and in about 30 min, at 7:15 Shirl and Elizabeth arrived. It was a mad dash to get them and our family ready and then we all relaxed and enjoyed the evening. Heavenly Father answers our prayers and miracles do happen. This was an amazing experience for me in faith, which thanks to Ell and her lesson the day before was on my mind. I am so thankful to have the gospel in my life and the peace and calm that can come from knowing how much our Father cares for us. The reception was beautiful, the photographer stayed to take our pictures and it all worked out. Ben and Ali are an amazing couple and we love them so much. Thank-you for letting us be a part of your special day. I will post some pictures later of the festivities and fun. On a side note while driving south on I-15 at 11:45 we passed the accident site and it was still stop and go. What a day!

Memories

If you play I will leave a comment on your blog! I just love memories! Growing up I never understood why when relatives came to visit they could just sit around and talk for hours. I thought that that seemed sooo boring, but now that is what I do! Funny. My favorite chats are about the past and memories. I love to sit with Creed's family and hear about Creed when he was younger. I love sharing memories, they are so fun, this is probably why I love to scrapbook so much! Just a way to capture those memories and display them for the coming years. Anyway, just leave me a comment about a memory, and have fun remembering!

On July 5th are little family was visiting with the Larsen's in Murray. The girls and I had just gotten home from our Wicked fun, and Elizabeth needed water her flowers and plants and the rest of us were just enjoying the outdoors. Shirl got that gleam in his eye letting me know that something was coming. He decided that Sarah needed to explore the water hose. She actually loved it. Hope you enjoy the slide show!

Wicked

Okay, I am feeling a bit better and thought that I would blog a little about my girls trip to LA to see WICKED! Let me tell you that if anybody has the chance to go and see this musical whether in LA or NY, or anywhere else it is playing, GO! It is SO good. I LOVED it. We started out journey on July 1st and spent the night at Julie's place in St. George. (Julie is a cousin to Creed on the Larsen side.) Then on the 2nd we finished our drive. Let me tell you, I have never had so much fun and entertainment in one drive. Kendra, married to Eric (Creed's brother just younger than him), Ellen, Val, EmmaLee (Creed's three sisters), Elizabeth (Creed's Mom), Janell Lunt (Creed's cousin on the Larsen side) and I were all in the car. (Just to give everyone out there a little reference) For the first part of the trip Val drove and Elizabeth sat up front, they mostly sang along to an old Disney CD, in harmony, which made the rest of us laugh, and at one point everybody else had headphones in connected to iPods. The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful, but it was just so great to be sitting and chatting with a bunch of adult girls (haven't had that experience in quite a while). I drove us into LA and it was right before traffic would hit, thank goodness! That night we went and saw Wicked and we had marvelous seats, and I cannot even describe how amazing it was!

The next day was spent at Catalina Island. Funny story with this little activity. Since I was in pain and have been and since doing anything really active brings on more pain, I opted out of doing anything active. I was told that there would be a beach for us to hang out on. So Janelle, EmmaLee, and Ellen all wore our swimsuits for the whole day, in hopes that we would be sitting on a beach for the day. Well, there really isn't a beach, it is more of a sandbox with warning signs about the dangers of playing at the "beach" because it is dirty and everyone and their dogs are hanging out at the "beach". Needless to say we wore our swimsuites and didn't go swimming until we got back to the hotel and it was like 10 pm. Kendra hung out with us too, but didn't wear her suite the whole day, lucky girl! While on the island we shopped mostly and chilled at a little cafe and we rented a golf cart for an hour and saw all of the sites. It was actually a really fun day. (Inside joke alert-lockers, sewers and boogey board! These three words make me laugh out loud!)

For the 4th we hung out at Venice beach and rented some tandem bikes and rode down to the Sana Monica Peir. It was Elizabeth's 50th birthday so we ate dinner at this amazing restuarant. It is where the stars eat, or at least there are quite a number of pictures of them there hanging on the wall (mostly stars I couldn't name!). The food was great, but caused a bit of sticker shock to the whole party. I forgot to mention that once in LA we met up with John and his family, Dave and his family and Grandma and Grandpa Mitton (Elizabeth's family minus Esther, her sister). So all 21 of us ate at this restaurant. Anyway, everybody but the 7 of us ladies drove to the restaurant, which was 3/4 of a mile from our hotel. (One car came back and picked us up) They left us with the intent of coming back to get us, but for some reason all the roads to and from our hotel were closed for the fireworks, so we started walking back to the hotel and ended up having a perfect view of the fireworks. It was so neat!

On the 5th we drove all the way home. Sarah was so glad to see me and I her. It was an amazing trip though and I am still working on the pictures, my camera only worked part of the time, plus everybody else had some good pictures, so a slide show will be coming your way in a few day's time. Thanks to everyone on the trip it was AMAZING!

Surgery

So on Monday I had the surgery. Everything went really well and the doctor said my insides looked pristine, minus the lesions he took off of my colon and some extra fluid that I had hanging out. This means that I don't, or didn't have endometriosis. I have decided to look at this as a miracle instead of a tragedy. I just figure that so many people were praying for me and some even fasting for me that everything just was gone by the time the surgery started. I am healing quite nicely if I can keep Sarah from falling on me. Sarah is doing so well though, she just loves to give me loves and tries to help me feel better. So when I am up to it I will tell you all about LA and WICKED! Just one word for now. AMAZING!
