Shark

Okay, I will probably only do this a couple of times, but I know how many moms read this and I just have to tell you all about this great product. It is called Shark and it is a steam cleaner that cleans everything! I love it because I can clean the bathroom and mop the floors, clean the couches and chairs, sanitize Sarah's toys, carseat, high chair etc. all in one day with one product and a few rags. No chemicals! Yeah! My aunt has had one for a year now and then my mom got one, and after seeing everything it can do we got one. I LOVE IT! Now it isn't cheap but it isn't too expensive either, $100 at Lowes, plus we had a coupon and got $10 off (thanks Mom and Dad for sending the coupon!). And yes you all read the blog right, my cousin John is coming to live with us. He is going to be staying in the basement, and no the basement isn't finished yet, we aren't that fast. But we framed a room and then stapled painters cloths along the wall and ceiling to give him some privacy and to keep the insulation up. He moves in tomorrow and we are very excited!

Where does time go?

Last week and this week are have just flown by, I can't believe that it is Thursday already! Last week was busy with me not feeling very well thanks to the fact that I am a woman, blah! Then we also had the anniversary party and my cousin came to stay with us for the weekend before he moves in this weekend (which we are very excited about!) Friday was spent getting him ready to start the fall semester at UVSC and checking out a job possibility. Saturday he helped us move in a new chair, and a shower/tub combo for the basement. He also started to help us frame another room. When he gets here the basement is going to start getting done a little faster. This week Sarah has been teething, two teeth at once, so she wakes us in the middle of the night and doesn't sleep very well during the day and I am getting exhausted, but she finally slept well last night and Creed and I went to bed early, around 9:30 to catch up. I have to say that I really do love sleep and I finally feel like I got enough last night, so now I am ready to face the rest of this week and I am looking forward to what lies ahead!

50th Wedding Anniversary

Grandma and Grandpa Mitton have been married for 50 years and last night was spent in a celebration just for them. It was really exciting to see them so happy and in love and to know that hopefully someday our kids and grandkids will be throwing us a 50 year celebration. For all of those who know Grandma Mitton, yes there was a show put on. There was orchestrational pieces, singing etc. And even Sarah got to be a part of it. I don't know if I have mentioned this, but Sarah really enjoys singing and the closing number in the production was a medly of hymns, and everyone in the family was involved, I was singing and holding Sarah and she was singing along too (no she really didn't know the words, or the tune, but she did lend her voice and that was really cute!) She was pretty tired though by the end and fell asleep in my arms. It really was a great event and we are so grateful that we live so close the the Mitton side of Creed's extended family. Creed and his dad and brothers did as barber shop number and it was really fun.

Father's Day!

So this Father's Day was Creed's first offical Father's Day, and I was so excited about giving him his presents I could hardly stand it! I got him a Nickel Creed CD from iTunes (partly so we had something to listen to on our road trip, and partly because he really likes them). I also made him some really fun and cute scrapbook page type pictures and some 12X12 frames to put them in. I gave the above gift to him at 12:01 Sunday morning, I was really excited! I also made him breakfast and took Sarah the whole day at church so he could concentrate on getting his lesson ready and helping the Young Men in our ward. The rest of the day we spent chatting about stuff and then we headed on up to the Larsen's to spend Father's Day with them. It really is nice that most of the Larsen's live close by and we can spend time with everyone. Creed has a ton of really fun and supportive cousins and aunts and uncles. Not to mention Grandma Larsen makes the best chocolates and Grandpa is just such a wonderful example. We had fun and really enjoyed the time we got to spend with everyone. Road Trip!

This past weekend we took a little road trip to Boise (sorry to all our Boise friends, we didn't have time to stop and visit!) We drove up Friday afternoon once Creed was done with work. We arrived at Boise in time to feed and bathe our little one and eat some dinner with my folks. Then it was off to bed. The next day we got up and visited with my folks some more and went to the Thompson Garage Sale where everything was FREE! (I love those kinds of sales) (and don't worry it wasn't an advertised sale or anything). Anyway we came home with some great stuff, levels and a table saw, some fake plants and a few momentos from childhood. We drove home Saturday afternoon because we had our callings to attend to on Sunday. We stopped for a moment to visit with some relatives in Tremonton and to feed the babe and then we were back on the road. I really do love road trips and the time spent in the car chatting with Creed about nothing and playing with Sarah and listening to her sing along with the music. I also really enjoy spending time with my parents and chatting with them about live.

Bubbles

Okay, I admit it, I am no where near being a perfect mom! The other day I was getting really bored with Sarah and didn't really know what games and things she should be doing or what she would be interested in. So I went online and found a website that mentioned that 7 month olds might like bubbles, so I ran out and bought some, and the article was right, she LOVES bubbles! Here are a few pictures to prove it!

Yesterday we decided to take Sarah to the little playground that is in our complex, mostly because I needed a picture of me and her for a Father's Day project. I was pleasantly surprised that there were swings. When Sarah was just a newborn she loved the swing, and as you can see, she still loves it!

I have a calling!

I am so excited, I have a calling! I haven't had one for 8 months, so I am giddy with delight. I am the primary chorister. So if anybody has any ideas on how to teach primary songs to junior and senior primary, just let me know. I am going to Deseret Book this afternoon to look into getting some ideas, but I am up for real life ones as well. So this weekend was low key compared to last weekend. Friday afternoon we did our Saturday cleaning and then headed up to Murray, where we spent the night. We also took in a moive, Ocean's 13, which was actually really enjoyable. Saturday was spent searching pawn shops for tools needed to finish the basement, with little success. So instead we borrowed them from Creed's dad, Shirl, and bought a set at Costco. Then we went home, put Sarah to bed and got to work. I got cranky and ended up not being much help. But Creed did get one whole wall framed! Good job Creed! Sunday night the Larsen's came over and we played PIT! I love this game, and it was quite a fun time.

What a weekend!

Yes this blog is about what happened last weekend, and tomorrow starts another one. Man have I been busy (but don't ask me what with, because I don't know!) Last weekend started out as a normal weekend with me mentioning that maybe we should go hiking on Saturday. Creed agreed and so after a few hours of cleaning and napping we were off. We meant to only be gone a few hours, but somehow ended up spending most of the day "exploring" Spanish Fork Canyon, but mostly just the Diamondback fork. We didn't have a map, but we stopped by the one that the forest ranger post and decided that there was a trail or two. So off we drove. Well, I would have to say that I was pretty disappointed in the hiking in that area, why, because there really is only one marked trail and there is no parking for 6 miles before or after the start. There was one little trail that we hiked up, but it wasn't really marked and was sort of hidden, which meant that no one else was there, but it wasn't very friendly for carrying Sarah up. But it was fun. The only problem with the whole thing was that it took us roughly four hours to finally stop and get out and actually hike. We did stop and get out every now and again, if not to sooth my nerves and remind me that we were still alive. Yes, I needed reminding. Why you might ask, because of the roads, if you can call them that. Everyone we passed on these dirt roads was either on a four wheeler, or in a four wheel drive car. We were in our Toyota Camry, which surprisingly did quite well. I am posting a picture of the road at one point, and this part was one of the better parts. We did make it back home alive and just in time to have a game night with Caroline and Michael and another couple. Though I have to admit that the rest of the weekend and part of this week have been a blur, because I womped my head on a tree coming down the mountain, and not really on the tree, but on a knot on the tree. All in all I had a great weekend and am glad that we went on this adventure. Sarah loved the mountain air, especially when the wind blows, I don't know why, but she really loves wind.

I just took this picture of Sarah yesterday and after reviewing it I was reminded of my other pirate. Yes, that would be my Creed dressed as Jack Sparrow for Halloween the year 2003. I think that she makes the pirate face because she enjoys rubbing her tongue along her sore gums. ARRRRG Matey!!!
