Memorial Day Weekend

I hope that everyone had a great three day weekend. Ours was pretty relaxing actually. We woke up Saturday morning and did some laundry and went to Ellen's soccer game. Ellen's team won 2-1 and the team is now looking forward to regionals in Las Vegas next month. Then we went grocery shopping and watched the Jazz win. Then on Sunday I woke up feeling a little sick so Sarah and I stayed home from church but did accompany Creed and his classical bass to Murray for a practice with his extended family. And yes it is a pretty funny sight to see the three of us and a Creed's bass in our Toyota Camry, but we do all fit. The rest of Sunday was spent with the Larsen crew and Eric and Kendra and Parker even came down from Rigby, Idaho. It is always a treat to see them and to get to spend some time with them. Then on Monday we got up and cleaned the house, oh the joy of housework! But with Creed helping we were able to clean everything in record time. After that we spent lunch at Red Robin with some of the Larsen's. Monday night was spent watching the Jazz lose and knowing that they were probably not going to make it to the NBA finals. And then it was back to the basics on Tuesday. Though we were able to finalized our basement budget and the basement plans. But that will have to be put on hold for a little bit while Creed works for two different companies and gets going with his calling.

Last week Caroline, Kristen and I had a fun little girls night out. Our friend Cory was getting married and none of us could make it to the reception so we went a little earlier in the week to say congrats and to give a fun little gift. Then we spent some time chatting and catching up before heading over to Kristen's, where we were able to meet her boyfriend. It was so weird to be without Sarah for three hours! Though a much needed break. Thanks girls for the fun and thanks Creed for watching a sleeping baby so I could have a break!

Swimming!

Last week we tried to take Sarah swimming, but because of the loud nature of some swimmers and the echo capacity of an indoor swimming pool, we lasted roughly 5 minutes. So today we decided to try again, and to our surprise she seemed to enjoy the experience. Here are a few pictures!

In Soccer news, Ellen's team won their games this week, 6-2 and 4-1. The State Cup finals are tomorrow. Good Luck Ellen and the whole Avalanche team!

Mother's Day and Such

I had the best Mother's Day a mom could ask for! Creed made breakfast, and got Sarah ready for church, which meant that I had time to put on some make-up. (We have nine o'clock church and sometimes we don't get up as early as we should.) He also got me some very pretty flowers. Then at church he took Sarah during the third hour, so that I could actually listen and learn during Relief Society. After church we put Sarah down for a much needed nap, had some lunch and then we took our naps. At around 4 we headed up to Murray to spend some time with Creed's mom and family, as well as to attend a Larsen Mother's Day Potluck at Grandma and Grandpa Larsen's. When we got to Murray everyone gave Elizabeth her Mother's Day gifts and then we all started getting ready to walk over to the Potluck when Shirl, Creed and Ben brought in my Mother's Day gift, a KIDAZOOZ!! Boy, was I surprised, I thought getting my curtains on Saturday and having them hung was my Mother's Day present. Now, for those of you who don't know what this it, it is a bike trailer that can convert into a jogging stroller. It is big enough for two toddlers. I was so excited! We have used it now at soccer games, to walk in the rain (it has a rain cover!) and to just stroll around. We haven't bought ourselves bikes yet, but I do see them in the near future. Sarah loves it, almost as much as I do! Thanks Creed, you are the best! And a thanks goes out to Shirl as well!

Now to update you on Ellen's team. They won on Wednesday 4-2 and then again on Saturday 9-0. They play tonight and Thursday as well as Saturday and most likely in the final on Monday. Oh, I think that I forgot to mention that they are playing in the Utah State Cup tournament. If they win 1st place then they get to go to regionals in June. So far it looks like that is a good possibility.

In other news: Creed has a calling! He is the first counselor in the Young Men's presidency. He is really excited and hopes that he can help the Scoutmaster with some backpacking this summer.

Soccer fun!

We went to Ellen's soccer game on Monday and Sarah had fun. She played in the grass, cheered on the team and even had a bite of her first orange. Although I can't say she enjoyed wearing a hat the whole time. But Ellen's team won, 5-0. Go Avalanche!!

First Blog!

So here goes, the first Larsen Blog! I guess the first thing I should do is update everyone on what is going on with our lives. We recently sold our condo in Pleasant Grove and bought a house in Springville. It has an unfinished basement which we hope to finish before next April. Creed is working in Spanish Fork now, hence the move, and he is really enjoying having too much to do at work. He goes to work at 6 and is home by 3, which I love! Now we get to go to Ellen's soccer games together, and things around the house will get finished faster (fingers are crossed!). We have been blessed, and so my days are spent with our little Sarah. She is getting so BIG!! I can't believe how fast she has grown. She now weighs a little over 14 lbs and is eating solids! She has also started to do a mix between the army crawl and a rolling crawl. It is quite fun to watch! She is a very determined little one and usually finds a way to get into things I didn't even know were around, like a piece of tissue paper on a picture frame that is still resting on the floor. I thought we had gotten all the paper off, but I guess not! She is trying to cut her first tooth though, and has been a bit of a cranky-kins. But she really is a cutie and I love spending all day with her.
